Early rare "box on box" mantel clock.
Georgeous dial signed "H. Clark Plymouth Ct". Reverse painted glass is original, both glasses are wavey. Mahogany case with columns on side. Ivory around key holes. Door locks working.
Inside hand inked label "This clock made by Herman Clark 1807 Plymouth Hollow Conn".
Note that we visited the NAWCC museum and we found an almost identical clock on display. Their clock was circa 1822. 8-day rack striking movement made in the village of Salem Bridge. And painted iron dial made by Samuel Curtis of Boston.
