Georgeous hand made finely woven persian rug. Wool pile, silk foundation, silk highlights, floral pattern with central medalian and two smaller secondary medalians. Primary colors are ivory, green, coral and burgandy. Most likely a wedding gift as the two smaller medalians are different colors. Made by a master craftsman in Persia, circa 1970. 4' 10" by 6' 8".
Not sure of the history, but this is one heavy iron stand. Easily holds an antique slot machine. Looks to be repainted black, old gold paint on the bottom may be the original color.
This persian rug was made circa 1970 in Qum, Iran. The rug is finely made and is entirely silk, including the pile and foundation. Size is 4' 5" by 7' 1". Shah-Abbas design with central medallion, pendents, curve-linear design, navy blue background, with a multicolored design.
Most fine persian rugs are a mix of wool and silk. Rugs that are entirely silk are rare and highly collectible. And a bonus that it is beautiful in our room.
