Circa 1880-1885. Plays 7 11/16" disks on a single 41 tooth comb. Wood box is grain painted. Top flower decoration is old and maybe original, front decoration is newer and closely matches the top, can't tell if anything is underneath. Colorful lithograph inside lid signed "Symposium" with a dancer and a guitar player. Metal plaque says "Note tune plaque, No. 10". Wind up crank on the right side. Lever on front starts and stops the playing. I noticed something unsual about this box; all the ones I found on the Internet have the disks sitting on rubber rollers, this one has two metal pins. Simple spring latch holds the bar and disk. Plays beautifully, including automatically stopping at the end. All original.
