This came off the Santa Fe 2928 steam locomotive. The heavy casing is marked "GOLDEN GLOW ESSCO PHILA". The huge glass reflector is original and has changed to a green color with age. It is currently wired for 120v and is working.
Circa 1948. An original aluminum logo from Milwaukee Road 52-seat coach passenger car #503. Stamped 7723 and marked 503 twice on the back. Retains some orange paint chips from when it was removed. Unable to find any photos of the car, but sister car #502 was restored in 2007 in St. Paul, MN. Also found a photo of car #504 showing the logo placement.
Brass topped lantern is marked CM&StPRy (Milwaukee Road Railroad), ca. 1895. Both the lantern and the original globe is marked.

Another memory from our riding the restored Milwaukee Road train. We were passengers on the observation car shown, pulled by the coal burning 261 locomotive.
This is an actual photo of the Santa Fe 2928 locomotive with the above lamp. The locomotive was made by Baldwin Locomotive works in 1944 for Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe, and used primarily for passenger service. It is a Class 2900 4-8-4 steam locomotive. Because of the war, ordinary metals were used in the construction making this the heaviest Northern type locomotive ever made. This is a beautiful locomotive and we wish we could have seen it in person. But unfortunately it was scrapped. Turns out the model railroading people have made a brass working model of this exact engine. Wow.

Milwaukee Road Inspector Lantern
Lantern is marked "C.M&St.P" on top, and "Dietz Acme Inspector Lamp New York, U.S.A." on the back. All original including reflector and Dietz globe. Height 14 1/2".
The attendant on our Amtrak sleeper car liked us and gave us a souvenir. Never used and still in the original plastic bag. Circa 1990's.
A surprise find in Tamra's aunt's house. And old towel marked Great Northern Railway. Some residual train dirt and a small hole. No idea how she got it or how old it is.
An undated postcard shows the ATSF 2928 locomotive sitting in a train yard. The postcard was marked R. J. Foster, East St. Louis, ILL.
The bucket is stamped "CMSTP&PRR", short for Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad.
Don't know much about this lamp, but we thought it was an interesting display piece with the red glass.

Painted on heavy metal, I think aluminum. Seller indicated this was taken off the Milwaukee Road 33C engine in the 1970's just before it was scrapped. Unfortunately there is no good way to verify this claim, but it is old. 22 3/4 x 16 3/4 inches.
Used to signal trains to proceed or stop. A light would be placed behind the lens, and someone would manually switch the blue/green or red lens as needed. I have some documentation saying which railroad this was used by, but unfortunately I cannot remember it right now.
Railroad security staff were required to visit specific areas on a regular schedule. Boxes were placed at important locations, and the security person used the key inside this box to record the time of each visit on a recording device.
Embroidered hat for the Milwaukee Road #261, a restored locomotive that runs excursions from Minneapolis MN. It has the steam locomotive and the observation car on the front. We rode this car behind the 261 steam engine.
As passengers on the restored Milwaukee Road observation car, the pins gave us full access to the entire train.
This is an original logo from the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha passenger car #121, a 48 seat diner car circa 1948. Note that the sign is aluminum, with identifying stamps and yellow and orange paint chips on the back side.
Brass topped lantern is marked GTRy (Grand Trunk Railroad), ca. 1913. Both the lantern and the original glass globe is marked.
Four glasses given to us by the Amtrak crew just before the Pioneer route was eliminated. Clear glass cup on green stem and base. Amtrak Pioneer logo is etched onto the cups. Nice memory of a great trip through the Rocky Mountains.
We bought this on one of our Amtrak train rides. We thought we might need it but we never used it. Still in the original packaging.
